Membership

If you’d like further information about becoming a member please contact us HERE.

Membership is open to anyone holding an associate’s (or equivalent), bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.  Let us know if you would like a membership application!  Email us at aauw.fortatkinson.wi@gmail.com.     We’d love to have you as a member of our branch!  AAUW-Fort Atkinson is a dedicated group of 45  members.  We have much to offer you – timely & thought-provoking programs, opportunities to help with our annual book sale, and a chance to make a difference in the lives of women and girls. For example, our Outreach Committee provides assistance and support for women and girls at risk in our area. Click here to see a video of our branch members in action through the years.

Other standing committees focus on:

  • Educational Equity
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Public Policy
  • Scholarships
  • Special Events
  • The annual Used Book Sale
  • AAUW Funds
  • Membership

Opportunities also await when you participate in one or more of our interest groups. You’ll have the chance to meet and make new friends who share your interests!

Current Special Interest groups are:

  • ¡Adelante! Book Group
  • School Supplies Project (providing supplies for needy students in area elementary schools)
  • Mystery Book Group
  • TechSavvy

Other groups form as interest arises within the branch.

We consider AAUW a guilt-free organization – participate as fully as your schedule and interest allow. Attend lots of events or just what you can. Whatever your level of involvement, your membership supports and furthers AAUW’s mission to advance equity for women and girls.

In joining our branch you become not only a member of our local AAUW organization, but also a member of AAUW-Wisconsin and the national AAUW organization.

Yearly dues for AAUW-Fort Atkinson are $93 ($67 national dues, $13 state dues, and $13 branch dues) which runs from July 1 through June 30 of the following year. New members can join at any point during the year.  Currently there is a special half price rate for new members.  Check that out with our VP of Membership, Kathy Marr.

Tax Deductibility: Because AAUW is a 501(c)(3) charitable membership organization, most of your national dues are tax deductible on your personal federal tax return.
