Book Sale

AAUW Used Book Sale Suspended

It is with regret that Fort Atkinson AAUW is announcing it will not have the used book sale in September 2020 due to Covid-19. This is the first time in over 40 years Fort Atkinson AAUW has not held their annual used book sale. In addition to offering a large inventory of quality used books for sale, this sale is the major fund-raiser for the organization. Profits from the used book sale provide local and national scholarships supported by the organization. Local scholarships are to women studying for vocational/technical, undergraduate and graduate degrees from Fort Atkinson and Jefferson. Almost $20,000 will be awarded to local women this year. Since 1984 AAUW has awarded over 186 tuition scholarships totaling $352,050.

For used book donations this year, AAUW is requesting that you save the books until next year. For information regarding monetary donations and book sale updates, check Facebook at AAUW-Wisconsin: Fort Atkinson Branch or visit the website at

Fort Atkinson AAUW would like to thank all who have supported the used book sale in past years and look forward to returning next year.

About our Used Book Sale

The Used Book Sale is our major fund raiser for Local and National Scholarships. It has been held annually for more than 40 years. Each year our branch awards local scholarships to undergraduate and graduate level women from Fort Atkinson and Jefferson. In addition, we contribute to the National AAUW Educational Opportunities Fund, which awards graduate level fellowships to women nationwide. Save your book donations for 2021, and then look for our donation bins in locations around Fort Atkinson in July and August. Your donation of “gently used” books are greatly appreciated.

Your purchase of books will provide funds for scholarships. And
everyone has more great books to read!
It’s a “Win-Win” for everyone!
